Every year around Veterans Day there are thousands upon thousands of students gathering in hundreds upon hundreds of gymnasiums around the country to watch a powerpoint and hear a message. Important? Yes, but sufficient? No. What is missing?
Veterans.
What if we could provide an opportunity for veterans to gather and be honored by students for their service to our country? Why are veterans at home on Veterans Day while students are gathering? Don't they deserve to be honored in person? Can we rectify this situation?
That is exactly what the students at St. Charles North High School are striving to do. A new tradition whereby students recapture the meaning and importance of Veterans Day, paying tribute to the heroes who have given us the freedom to live and believe as we so choose.
The Sixth Annual Veterans Celebration Concert. A musical celebration of American music presented to our veterans. They deserve so much more, but it’s a start.
Join us. This concert is FREE, but tickets are limited. Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 3:00 pm.
